Domestic design failure

I don't like doors with the knob in the centre. Typically, they come from the 70s and you never know whether to push or pull or which side of the door will open. Also, it eliminates much of the force you can apply to the door by putting your application of force at the centre of gravity, denying the lever principle its glory.

PS - In all, the one thing these doors bring to the table is some visual style
PPS - And if you need style that badly, perhaps the rest of the house is flawed.
