Humility

I just thought I'd share an insight I've had (or rather that I've been handed) when reading The Screwtape Letters. Humility is not belittling myself or thinking less of myself than I am. True humility is, as C. S. Lewis puts it, "self-forgetfulness". It is to accomplish something great, to know it is great, but to be no more (or less) proud of it than if someone else had done it. The book has a way of putting simple truths about daily life that make a lot of sense. It would take some time to fully internalise it all.

PS - Most of the insights are just a shift in perception or focus.
PPS - And they're so simple it's a wonder I didn't come across them before.
